This week, we’re featuring our favorite (and only) Head of Operations, Jeff Davis. Jeff is a valued member of the Leapin’ Lizard Labels team and works tirelessly to keep us all on track and keep the orders flowing through the print process. Jeff has been with Leapin’ Lizard Labels for over 12 years now and has worked his way up!
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love solving problems and being able to constantly learn new things. Every day is a new challenge and I enjoy finding the right solutions!
What challenges have you faced, and how have you overcome them?
I’ve never been great at group speaking. It has always given me anxiety. I have always been the quiet one. When managing, you need to have a group voice and be able to present things to groups of people. I overcame that by just sucking it up and doing it over and over again. After you do it enough times it becomes a lot easier.
If you could give any piece of advice to our customers, what would it be?
Keep it simple. When you start throwing too many artsy things on your labels, they can quickly become overwhelming and your product messaging starts to become hidden. Keep the fancy script fonts to a minimum, it can make it more difficult for customers to read your labels. I have tons of others, just reach out to me.
What is your driving passion for your job? What keeps you coming back to work day after day?
I have been with the company since we were in the owner’s basement; I have been able to see everything that happens when a company grows. We have a great team with great energy. I’m also a workaholic and there’s never a lack of things for me to do.
What is your favorite product at LLL?
Our normal white BOPP material, it’s great for so many applications. Though if the product will never see water or oil my favorite would be the hemp paper, I just really like the look and feel of it.
Tell us about your favorite team experience at LLL?
I always look forward to our trail days we do at Lory State Park twice a year. It’s a lot of fun and It helps out our local park for everyone to enjoy.
